  1. Why should I buy a Wings West product instead of Brand "x"?
Because Wings West products fit! Ask any consumer or professional shop that has bought or installed any body kit
and they will tell you that our reputation for making the highest quality products that fit, is second to none!

  2. What is the difference between Fiberglass and Urethane?
FIBERGLASS parts are made by combining a fiberglass cloth with resin, and hand laying it onto a (open) female mold.
There are two processes for making fiberglass parts, chopper-gun and hand-laid. Wings West only uses hand-laid
which is more labor intensive than chopper gun but the quality of the fiberglass is far superior. Fiberglass parts have
a gel coat (primer) surface, which can be sanded and painted on. A primer coat is usually required before painting.
Fiberglass parts may crack if they are stressed or impacted. Fiberglass body kit parts usually require pre-fitting onto
the car before they are painted and installed.

URETHANE parts are made by injecting the urethane material into a closed mold. Urethane is a flexible material that is
similar to most of the original bumpers on current existing autos. It will not crack like fiberglass when it is stressed,
however impacts or stress may damage the paint surface. Urethane is the best material to make aerodynamic parts
out of since it is made in a molded process. This ensures that each part is consistent, so the fit is virtually guaranteed.
Like fiberglass, urethane parts require prepping and priming before painting. Although the process used for urethane
can be more labor intensive than fiberglass, urethane is still far superior in quality than fiberglass. See prepping and
painting instructions in the TECH INFO section on our web site

  3. How much do your body kits lower my car?
There are really too many factors involved to give you an exact figure, such as: your suspension, your tire size, your
wheel size, etc. However, generally speaking our kits will lower your car about 1 to 2 inches. Most of our project cars
are lowered to give them the desired look. Check out our Project Cars section for information on our industry partners
    for an applied suspension kit.
    ined look.

  4. How long will it take to ship my order?
When it comes to fixing up your car, we know that you want your parts now! Especially when you are getting ready for
a car show and have a deadline. For this reason, here is a brief explanation of how long your order may take so you
know what to expect. There are a few things to consider when coming up with an ETA for your order. First of all, if you
order directly from Wings West, we will quote you an estimated delivery time. If we have your parts in stock, and they
are not back ordered, they should leave our warehouse pretty quickly. Once an order ships, within the U.S., it normally
takes from 3 to 5 business days to arrive. Check with your sales representative when you place your order, to see if
we have your parts in stock. If it is not in stock, the shipping time will vary depending on the backorder of your parts.
We build parts every day, so it is only a matter of time before your order will be first in the line of orders. Therefore,
as we fill the orders that were placed before yours, your order moves closer to being first in line. Based on this
information, the sooner you place your order, the sooner you will see it on your doorstep.

If you order from a dealer/distributor, THEY must provide you with any information regarding your order. They can give
you their estimated delivery date based on their inventory. If they do not have it in stock, they will need to contact us
for a quote on delivery time. At that point, the information mentioned above will hold true.

Please do not call Wings West directly to get delivery information on parts you ordered from a dealer/distributor. We
do not have all of the necessary information to quote you an accurate answer. We do not have visibility of their
inventory or any other orders they may have pending.

  7. How to prep Urethane Parts?

If a bake booth is available, the first step is to bake all urethane parts for 3 hours at 80 degrees.  If you do not have a bake booth, placing the parts in the sun 80 plus degrees for half day. This will allow the part to sweat out oils in the urethane and any trapped gases. If the part is bulge/kink during shipping this will relax the part and return it back to the original shape. Then thoroughly clean the part inside and out with a silicone remover or comparable wax and grease remover. We recommend using 7090 Spies Hecker Brand silicone remover. Using a spray bottle, spray the outside of the part with silicone remover and at the same time scuff the surface to a dull finish with a 3M 7447 Scotchbrite Pad. After scuffing the part again clean the surface with the 7090 using a clean rag.

Surface Inspection and minor defect repair Inspect the surface for defects ie: scratches, nicks, etc. and spot repair with Spies Hecker Fine Putty #7715. After the putty dries, sand the putty smooth with 3M Soft Back Fine Grit Sanding Sponge. Again clean the surface again with 7090 cleaner.  Plastic Adhesion Primer Application Apply the 3304 plastic adhesion primer to the part surface. Allow to dry for 5 minutes.

Primer Application Apply the first coat of Tip Top #1255 Brand Primer to the part surface, the first coat should be a light coat.  Allow to dry 5-10 Minutes. Apply a second wet coat of Tip TOP primer #1255, Allow to dry for 10-15 minutes.  If heat is available put the parts in the oven for 1 -1/2 hours at 90 degrees to fully cure the primer. Remove from oven, allow to cool down and thoroughly wet sand with 3M 500 grit wet sand paper along with a solution of Simple Green and water. Final clean the part surface with Spies Hecker #7090 Silicone Remover. The part is now ready for base coat paint. Apply base coat & clear coat per manufacturers'
